Domain Shopper/InstaTeller DEMO
Copyright 1995 Domain Entertainment
Reference to Documentation
Thank you for taking the time to download this DEMO of Domain Shopper or
Domain InstaTeller. These are the FINEST credit card shopping and instant
account upgrade doors available today! They are also written SPECIFICALLY for
your Synchronet BBS software.
First a VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: The REGISTERED versions of Domain Shopper and
Domain InstaTeller come with a PRINTED and BOUND manual. The manual is very
informative, and includes screen captures to help you easily setup and
configure the programs for you specific uses. Unfortunately, because of the
pictures and the specific references to them, it was not possible to create a
text file version of the documentation for this DEMO. This document is here
to briefly explain how to set up this program as an external program in your
Synchronet Configuration program (SCFG), and what to run to get things going.
As far as specifics, you are pretty much on your own in the DEMO.
The purpose of this DEMO is to give Sysops a feel for what the program is
like to set-up and configure, and to basically show the things that cannot be
seen by simply calling a BBS and using the Shopper/InstaTeller programs. The
following items have been changed in the DEMO which will NOT affect the Sysop
end of the program:
User information is NOT saved in the database.
Invoices are NOT created.
Automated callouts can NOT be performed.
User accounts will NOT be upgraded (InstaTeller only).
Now that we have all that aside, let's get to setting up Domain Shopper
and/or Domain InstaTeller. First, you'll need to create a sub-directory off
of your \SBBS\XTRN directory called DOMAIN (\SBBS\XTRN\DOMAIN). Next,
unzip (or move) the files that you downloaded into this new directory.
You will now need to create two sub-directories in the directory you
just created, name them EXTENDED and RIP (\SBBS\XTRN\DOMAIN\EXTENEDED and
\SBBS\XTRN\DOMAIN\RIP).
Now run the SCFG program, go to the external programs, and insert a new
program. For Domain Shopper, set it up like this:
Name Domain Shopper
Start-up Directory C:\SBBS\XTRN\DOMAIN
Command Line dshopper
Clean-up Command Line
Cost in Credits 0
Access Requirements
Execution Requirements
ANSI Required No
Multi-User Yes
Intercept I/O Interrupts Yes
Shrink BBS No
Modify User Data No
Uses WWIV Color Codes No
Execute on Event No
Menu Command Keys Main ( ) Transfer ( )
BBS Drop File Type Synchronet XTRN.DAT
Place Drop File In Node Directory
For Domain InstaTeller, set it up like this:
Name Domain InstaTeller
Start-up Directory C:\SBBS\XTRN\DOMAIN
Command Line dteller
Clean-up Command Line
Cost in Credits 0
Access Requirements
Execution Requirements
ANSI Required No
Multi-User Yes
Intercept I/O Interrupts Yes
Shrink BBS No
Modify User Data No
Uses WWIV Color Codes No
Execute on Event No
Menu Command Keys Main ( ) Transfer ( )
BBS Drop File Type Synchronet XTRN.DAT
Place Drop File In Node Directory
The reason Domain Shopper and Domain InstaTeller are placed into the same
directory is so that they can SHARE the same user files, invoice files, and
have automated callouts performed on both of them simultaneously.
Now that you have it set up as an external program, users (or yourself)
can enter the program from the BBS and look at it from a user perspective.
Since the DEMO doesn't actually make invoices or keep the user information, it
probably should only be made available to accounts which are testing the
program, and not the general users.
To set up Domain Shopper and Domain InstaTeller, change to the DOMAIN
sub-directory, and run the DSYSOP program. This is the program which will be
used to print out invoices, create catalogs and edit/add products to them,
and configure validation sets. The program is fairly simple to use, and you
should be able to move your way through most (or all) of it to get a feel for
how the registered version will suit you, but note that the interface that
DSYSOP uses will be updated in the near future to an even easier to use
interface.
Before I end this document, there are a couple of command line options
which can be used with Domain Shopper, they are as follows:
/C=x Where x is the currency SYMBOL you wish Domain Shopper to use
(default is $).
/CAT=x Where x is the number of a CATALOG you wish to force the user
to go into. If Domain Shopper is called with this command
line option, the user will only be able to access this
catalog and no others (new as of v2.21).
/NOCHECK Will disable credit card number length and MOD10 checking.
The following command line options are available for use with Domain
InstaTeller:
/C=x Where x is the currency SYMBOL you wish Domain InstaTeller to
use (default is $).
/LEVEL=x Where x is a security level. If a user has a security level
lower than this the Domain InstaTeller will NOT automatically
upgrade their level (you will need to do it manually). The
file NOVAL.TXT (create this in the Domain InstaTeller
directory) will be displayed to the user when exiting the
program if a purchase was made.
/EXTRA=x Where x is a monetary amount. Some BBSs may wish to charge
a New Applicant Fee. If this is specified on the command line
the user will be charged this much extra when purchasing an
upgrade.
/NOCHECK Will disable credit card number length and MOD10 checking.
As of version 2.21 of both programs, the user number is now placed on
the invoice, and the user is now asked for a COMPANY name when entering a
shipping address.
I hope you enjoy this DEMO of Domain Shopper and/or InstaTeller, and
remember to place your order for the registered version!
End of document.
